(His Version)
It all started at a Cheesecake Factory, of all places. My brother had invited me out with his friends, and that’s where I first met Amber. Not exactly the most romantic setting, but little did I know I was meeting the love of my life. We didn’t talk much that night, but I couldn’t help noticing how pretty and likable she was. Her entire demeanor was magnetic.
Soon after we found ourselves hanging out again, and this time we really started talking. From the very start, it felt like we could talk about anything. We spent countless late nights sitting in the driveway, talking until sunrise.
The timing wasn’t ideal because just a few months later, I left for UAB, two hours away. However, the distance didn’t stop me. I drove home every single weekend just to see her. Every 114 mile trip was worth it, and I don’t regret the wear and tear on my car one bit.
Moving forward to one of our biggest milestones, the proposal. I chose Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville, this is a very special place for us because it is the very same spot where we had first confessed our feelings for each other. With the help of my mom, we set up a blanket, flowers, and string lights to make it perfect. Of course, it rained earlier that day, and Amber could tell I was stressed but in the end, everything came together. I asked, she said yes, and our forever began.
Now, as we prepare for our wedding, what excites us most is celebrating with all of you the familiar faces who have supported us along the way. We can’t wait to share a weekend full of love, laughter, dancing, and memories we’ll never forget.
(Her Version)
It did indeed all start at the Cheesecake Factory. As Caleb said, not the most romantic setting but little did we know, it was the beginning of everything. At the time, Caleb was rumored to be quite handsome and I still remember the feeling of butterflies in my stomach when I first saw him walking up to join us for the dinner. He was breathtaking. After the short and awkward introduction, we were sat on opposite sides of the long table and did not talk much that night.
The next day was where the spark really started. Joshua's birthday gathering at the Perez house brought much laughter and possibly a core memory for Caleb and I. We got to know each other and instantly clicked, talking each other’s ears off late into the night! Finding more and more similar interests to talk about, he soon became a great friend to hang out with.
We had a trio of us who would hang out time and time again, having fun, watching tv and playing games. While Caleb and I were friends, that’s all we were, just friends. Or so we thought! Little did we know, we both liked each other without the other even having a clue.
We love to laugh about this as we were just as clueless as one another and looking back at all the late-night drives and hours of talking, we still wonder how we never got the memo. Until late Summer 2024, when a little birdie told me that Caleb liked me. Putting aside my complete disbelief and sadness, as Caleb was leaving for university in two weeks which was two hours away, I still decided to take the dive and show that I liked him too (more obviously this time). After a heartfelt late-night walk and confession session at Big Spring Park, we decided to commit to a future together, under the stars.
And boy was it the best decision ever. For the whole 4 month long semester Caleb drove home every weekend to come see me and knowing someone would go that far just to spend time with me meant more than I can put into words. Every mile mattered. During that semester was when I knew for sure we had something special, and that I wanted to be by Caleb’s side for the rest of my life.
Fast forward to next summer and Caleb has decided to visit the UK with me, meet my family and learn more about who I am. But that wasn’t the only eventful thing that happened that summer, on June 22nd 2025, Caleb proposed to me. Not only did he propose but he chose the place where It all officially started, Big Spring Park.
That takes us to the present day, where we invite our loved ones to join us on May 22nd 2026 to witness our becoming of Husband and Wife. I thank you for your patience reading our story and I also thank you for being apart of our big day. We look forward to your love, support and simply your presence on May 22nd, see you there!
Love, Amber + Caleb xx
